First Night Away

With Noah at a little over 2 years old, Cole and I both felt ready to have our first full night away from him together. I haven't felt comfortable leaving Noah overnight up until now, primarily since he was still nursing right before bed and first thing in the morning. However, now that he has weaned, I totally felt ready for a night away. Now don't get me wrong, I was very sad to be leaving him and a bit nervous for how he would react with me not being there to put him to bed and be there when he wakes up in the morning, but at the same time, very excited to have this special time away with Cole.

Our first night away was Saturday night, and I planned us a fun getaway! As soon as we left the house on Saturday afternoon, we headed to Jiao in Midtown for hour long foot massages together. So relaxing!

Then, we checked into our hotel room at the Hilton in Midtown and relaxed for a bit and took showers. (it was a free stay due to Cole's points-a perk to having a husband who has to travel some for work!;).

We had dinner reservations at Lure at 8pm. Our dinner was AMAZING! Our friend Kelly waited on us and took such great care of us. We were also treated to a special bottle of Prosecco by our wonderful neighbors, Steven and Anna! Cole and I could not have asked for a more amazing evening!

Cheers to a wonderful night!

Just like we figured, even though we could sleep in on Sunday morning, we still woke up early. However, it was so nice to just lay around in bed and watch tv together. Once we were ready to get up, we showered and headed to Ria's Bluebird Cafe for breakfast before we headed back home to our sweet boy. We used to eat breakfast at Ria's almost every weekend right before Noah was born, so it was so nice to see some of our friends that work there and eat a delicious breakfast together.

I really have to say that everything was absolutely perfect! I am so glad we had this opportunity for a romantic night away together, and we plan to do it again soon!:)

Now as for Noah, Momma Smith came to watch and stay with Noah on Saturday night. She came down around 4pm to play, feed him dinner and put him to bed. All in all, she said it went great! He cried for about 5 mins when we first left, and then she said that was it. They ate dinner together, watched Peppa Pig, played chase, read lots of books and then he was asleep by 7:15pm. She spent the night at our house and was there when he woke up in the morning. She was expecting him to be upset in the morning when she went in to get him up since we weren't there, but he was just fine! They played together, watched morning videos and made pancakes! He was smiling and happy when we got back home!:) Again, we could not be happier that it all worked out so well. We are so thankful that Momma Smith was so willing to come stay with him and that they had so much fun together! Thank you so much again Momma Smith!
